2007/2008 SEASON DANCE POPULARITY.     By Helen Rose

Over the last season I have looked at 27 dance flyers, Bedford included, which have been available in the fairly local dancing area. Analysis includes any extras on the programme. There were 216 different dances on the programmes, however some were more popular than others.
The most popular dance, Montgomeries Rant, was on 11 programmes.
Quarries Jig, Pelorus Jack and McDonald of the Isles were on 9.
Polharrow Burn, Mairi`s Wedding, Bratach Bana and Bees of Maggieknockater were on 8.
Immigrant Lass, Highland Rambler and Diamond Jubilee were on 7.
7 dances were on six programmes,
15 on five,
22 on four,
26 on three,
47 on two,
and finally 88 on one programme.

Considering Bedford dances and ball, you had the opportunity to do 82 different dances. Montgomeries Rant and Luckenbooth Brooch were the most popular, on three programmes. 16 dances were on two programmes and the remainder just on one.

SUBS REMINDER

I am sorry to have to remind you that subs are now due and even sorrier to say that they have gone up. The total is now £18 of which the branch share remains at £3. Our treasurer, Keith Rose, will be pleased to hear from those of us who have not yet paid.
