BALL REPORT

Ball 2010

I am happy to report that the Ball was a splendid event as always. Attendance was good and the band, which was partly new to us, gave a great performance. It is always good to see so many long term friends and acquaintances again and enjoy such a lovely evening together.

BRANCH FUTURE

The Bedford Branch is suffering from reduced numbers, no new members and a fixed committee due to lack of any other members willing to serve on it. These problems need addressing and will be up for discussion at the AGM. Please have a think before the meeting and let us have your ideas and comments.

BRANCH SOCIAL AND AGM

This will be held on Sunday 27th June in Oakley Village Hall starting at the earlier time of 7.30pm. Alex Lawton will MC the dancing and the programme will be as follows:-

The AGM will take place during the tea interval and will be dealt with as quickly as possible. AGENDA
  1. To receive apologies.
  2. To adopt the minutes of the AGM held on 22nd June 2008.
  3. To consider any matters arising from those minutes.
  4. To receive and adopt the Chairman`s report.
  5. To receive and adopt the Hon. Secretary`s report.
  6. To receive and adopt the Hon. Treasurer`s report.
  7. The election of the committee:
    Chairman, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, Committee members.
  8. Branch Future.
During the past year, the committee has lost the services of Carol Usher who returned to Canada. Margaret Pell has announced that she will not be standing again for re-election to the committee. We thank them both for their services to the Branch.
The remaining six committee members are all willing to stand for re-election. Nominations are sought for the two vacant positions.
