These are continuing to take place regularly, usually on the third Sunday afternoon of the month. There is nearly always a small party going from Bedford so transport could be shared. If you are interested please give me a ring.
We have received information from a Czech organisation called Dvorona of a Scottish Country Dance Seminar to be held in Prague from 18th to 25th August. I quote the following invitation:-
Furlongs have also sent us their holiday information for 2007. There will be one in Crieff Hydro from 15th to 22nd June and another in Denmark from 17th to 24th August. Again I have the relevant information.
HQ have sent us information about a Dance Scottish week to be held on 7th to 15th September. There will be a reception and ball in Edinburgh on 7th September, an informal dance in Glasgow on 14th September and some other events such as open days in between. We can nominate two members to attend the reception and ball (tickets £25) but this must be done by 30th April. If you would like to represent us please contact our secretary Alex Lawton.
Moira Stacey is the devisor of “The Silver Strathspey” and she is running an afternoon workshop and evening dance at Letchworth on Saturday 15th September. I have more details and an application form for anyone who is interested.
Nigel has indicated that he will be standing down as chairman after this years AGM so we will have to find a replacement from somewhere – any volunteers? It`s a really fun job! Not to mention new committee members who would always be very welcome. Please give it some thought.
If any of you who are still receiving your newsletters by snail mail would like to receive them electronically, that can be arranged. Just let me or Keith Rose (tel. nos. in letter heading) have your email address.
CAMBRIDGE STEP DANCE CLASSES
DANCING HOLIDAYS
Let me invite you to the Scottish country dancing course organised by Dvorana this summer in Prague. As on the six previous occasions, our teacher will be Ron Wallace. You will be able to enjoy a week of dancing in one of the most beautiful cities with opportunities to meet old and new friends, and admire the city sights. And if you could spare several more days you can join us on a tour of southern Bohemia which will follow the Scottish country dancing course. This part of the Czech republic is very attractive with its soft and mellow countryside and historical towns.
