The Scots' Society of St. Andrews held their annual President`s Evening on Saturday 13th September in Bromhan Village Hall. As usual it was a splendid occasion starting with a meal with dancing and entertainment to follow. This was provided by the piping of Catherine, Donald and Andy and some dance displays by the RSCDS branch team. The dancing went with a swing, as it always does, thanks largely to Peter Scatterty`s ever enjoyable music and George's encouragement as MC, and everyone had a thoroughly good time.
This event was held in the Corn Exchange complex on Saturday 25th October. It was organised by the Borough Council and was the second of its kind. It consisted of displays by many local dance groups on the stage with the rear half of the hall occupied by stalls offering information about the groups. Also, in the other smaller halls in the complex there were half hour taster sessions for all-comers to try any or all of the styles for themselves. Our session attracted plenty of interest and one or two inquiries about classes – here`s hoping for some new members.
