Eightsome Reel

After a nail-biting weather watch we decided to cross all fingers and toes and carry on with the arrangements. Luck was on our side and no more snow fell. However, many minor roads were still treacherous and prevented quite a few people from getting there. Those hardy souls who did were rewarded with a great evening as always. Peter Scatterty, gallantly making a long journey, provided his ever enjoyable music, George kept the dancing up to scratch with a few new dances and a lot of old favourites and the food went down as well as ever. Entertainment was provided by the demo team, Andy piping and Fiona dancing the Lilt. We are all looking forward to next year`s Ceilidh already.

Highland Dress Items

The following items of highland dress have been offered to us to pass on to anyone who might be able to use them:-

One Sheriffmuir Jacket with Inverness flaps and White waistcoat. Approx. 42 chest.
One Montrose Doublet. Approx. 34/36 chest.
One Argyle Dress Jacket. Approx. 38 chest.

One MacNaughton. Waist 30, length 25.
One Ancient Cameron. Waist 40, length 26.

Please ring our Secretary Alex Lawton (number in the letter heading), who has custody of the items, for more information.

There are two socials coming up in the near future, (programmes and crib sheets following) and it would be nice if we could get a few more people along to them than we have been having lately. So please make a note of the dates and we hope to see you there.

Also we are considering a change of venue to a smaller hall than the Oakley one but are a little short of ideas. If you have any suggestions we would be very pleased to hear them.

Please Note: The advanced class would normally be held on February 14th but as it clashes with the Valentine Social it will not take place this month.
